“Kindler and the Virgin” directed by Agnieszka Smoczyńska and based on Robert Bolesto’s script is one of the eight film segments in the film anthology entitled “The Field Guide To Evil” from the creators of Alamo Drafthouse – Tim League and Ant Timpson (“ABCs of Death”).

Masuria, probably the 19th century, the Great War is coming. Kindler, a merchant of wicker baskets, meets the demonic Virgin in the forest. A young woman urges him to eat three human hearts of only just the deceased, which will make him wise and allow him to win the Wars. Kindler, enchanted by the Virgin, decides to check the spooky recipe.
