The Altar Boys

A group of teenage altar boys, frustrated by the indifference of adults and Church institutions toward social injustice, decides to implement its own plan for moral renewal. Armed with youthful rebellion and their own interpretation of Scripture, they eavesdrop from the confessional to get to know their neighbors better.

Masked like Zorro and harboring Robin Hood-esque ambitions, they act as judges in their neighborhood—helping the needy and meting out punishment for sins. Their mission turns into a dangerous game as the boys apply their own ideal code of honor, walking a fine line between good and evil. The gritty reality of a housing estate blends with a mission straight out of superhero comics—only instead of capes, the heroes wear surplices.

Altar Boys is a story about growing up, faith, and the fight against hypocrisy—told with humor, energy, and a touch of irony, through a modern interpretation of the New Testament.
